We often get asked questions regarding how to approach a crowdfunding campaign.
There are so many great guides out there we don’t think it is worth writing another, but here are important points from our experience:
- Test whether your campaign content (video, description, images) can convert visitors into backers. Conventional products ‘with a cool twist’ (eg Pebble and the ‘tech esky’) can do really well on crowdfunding, but if your product involves the user behaving or looking quite different then you might find crowdfunding very challenging.
- Get as much press as you can (PR firm might be able to help with this). This is much more effective than social media.
- Don’t expect to get traffic/backers just by being on a well-known platform (e.g. Kickstarter).
